Most spearing is done at the nearby reefs, only a few miles offshore.  Belize has one of the largest barrier reefs in the World, with 140 miles of reef walls.  These spots can be speared at depths of 5 to 15 feet (2-5m), with the wall falling to bluewater depths.  Additional spearing opportunities include various atolls (pinnacles), and the famous Glover Reef.  This destination is far from the “touristy areas”, and has barely been discovered, so the various opportunities -such as great bluewater hunting have yet to be explored!
